| Description |
English: Abnormal load, Ballylumford. During the building of the combined cycle gas turbine power station at Ballylumford (on the right in 467459) the "B" roads of Islandmagee saw an abnormal amount of traffic. It ranged from "ordinary" construction vehicles through the famous 24 hour continuous pour of concrete (one lorry every five minutes) to wide and heavy loads. This one was making its way along the Ballylumford Road near the end of its journey. Police escorts were needed for most of them. (The Traffic Branch proved very obliging to a "sad" photographer recording some of the movements for posterity). |
