English: This artwork created by Abanindranath Tagore (7 August 1871 - 5 December 1951). It is a permanent collection of the Victoria Memorial Hall (VMH), Kolkata, Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India.
It was exhibited at The ‘Birth of an Artist: The Early Years of Abanindranath Tagore’, exhibition at the VMH, Kolkata.
In the context of the 19th century Bengal Renaissance, the significant role played by Abanindranath Tagore is notable and praiseworthy. As the entire art fraternity celebrates his sesquicentennial birth anniversary, the 'Birth of an Artist: The Early Years of Abanindranath Tagore' exhibition brings forth a rare collection of his 56 artworks that help shed light on his early days as an artist. Objects on display will go unparalleled in any scholastic discussion regarding the formative years of the artist.
