| Description |
English: Abandoned offices These abandoned wooden offices once housed all the administration staff who worked at Fison's Eclipse Peat Works. This particular section of the office complex was 'loaned' by Fisons PLC to the 'Somerset Levels Project'. The Somerset Levels Project was set up in 1973 to monitor, record and preserve archaeological remains unearthed (or maybe 'unpeated'??) on the Somerset Levels. Part of the building seen here was the field archaeologist's office. The remains of the English Heritage sign (once affixed to the wall - a mark can be seen) are on the ground next to the office. |
