Summary[edit]

Description This is a storage shed at an abandoned farmstead in Iceland, on the coast south of Reykjavik. For some reason I have an affinity for the colorful effects of decay, and this wall, even though it is undoubtedly an eyesore in the opinion of many people, seemed irresistibly appealing to me. It looked like an abstract painting made by nature's weathering effects. The rust and flaking of the curiously diverse colored layers of paint that the shed had been given over its decades of life created a unique visual scene. I also liked how this natural artwork was framed by the brooding sky and the billowing long blades of grass that nobody was around to cut anymore.
