Foe, a Dutchman.The chambers of this mansion are peculiarly elegant and clean, norwas I a little astonished to find, in the interior of this continent,the most tasteful mahogany furniture. Mr. Foe is in possessionof a curious assortment of every species of ancient and modernarmoury, which he sells to the savages, as well as powder andball. This gentleman, who is in affluence, is very generous, andbrings up, at his own expense, from pure motives of charity, 12children, whom he treats in the same manner as his own.
