By its efforts a system of co-operativeexperiments has been established among the farmers. Thenumber of individual experimenters is over two thousand. By this means,new and improved varieties of grains, etc., are tested and introduced fromseed distributed from headquarters. In the interest of fruit growing, theGovernment has likewise established thirteen fruit experiment stations, theobject being to test different varieties of fruit and determine their suitabilityfor the locality represented. By these agencies many problems of vital importance to the farmerhave been solved and a mass of information obtained which has helped himto make his business more profitable.
