Summary[edit]

Author
Willem Van de Velde, the Younger
Description
English: A small English pink close-hauled

On the left, a weather quarter view of a small pink close hauled on the port tack in a fresh breeze. She is rigged with a square foresail on a short mast, a mainsail on a mast with pole topmast and a lateen mizzen. Under her lee, a vessel before the wind and further to the right, a vessel on the starboard tack.

This is an unsigned pencil and wash drawing by the Younger. It has been very approximately dated by the subject and style.
