Title
A single view in plan of a Medieval seal matrix
Description
English: The seal matrix is made from lead or alloy alloy which has been cast, and then the legend and possibly the device has been engraved. The matrix has been broken into two pieces, the break was not too recent.

In plan the matrix has a pointed oval base. The reverse is a flat-back type with an integral loop protruding from one point. From each pointed tip the matrix base is 52.7mm and is 24.2mm wide.

The device appears to be a fleur-de-lis.

These shaped and sized seals tend to be most common in the 13th century, particularly in having the personal name in the legend.
