THESE Birds are of the fame Bignefs of Linnets;the Bills alh-coloured, llaort and thick like that ofthe Chaffinches; the Head, Neck, Bread, and underSide of the Belly of the Cocks are black: the reft of theBody, Wings, and Tail of a redifh brown or light chefnutcolour; the Legs and Feet dusky. The Hens Back, Wings, and upper Part of the Tail,are of a more dusky brown than the Cocks; the lowerPart of the Breaft, and Belly, of a light hair Colour ; theSides of the Belly, and under the Wings, were regularlyfpotted with black and white; the Legs, and Feet of alight yellowilh hair Colour. Their Note was like thewhiftling of the Wind. The Pourtray of thefe Birds Idrew at Mr. Blands at the Tiger on Tower-Hilly who toldme they were brought from China in Eaji-India by theName of Chinefe Sparrows.
