Summary[edit]

Description
English: A lone willow tree Growing in the flood plain by the River Wensum. The tall grasses, Hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium) and Great Willowherb (Epilobium hirsutum) seen in the foreground grow on its other bank, beside Mill Road. The plants seen in the river are yellow water lilies. The River Wensum - its name originates from the Anglo-Saxon word for 'winding' - rises near the village of South Raynham where several streams converge. It flows northwards through Raynham Park and on towards the market town of Fakenham, where it takes on a southerly course through Great Ryburgh and then through Bintree Mill. It finally merges with the River Yare near Whitlingham in South Norfolk and is navigable from the New Mills Yard in the centre of Norwich to its confluence with the Yare.
