| Description |
English: When the restored 'Dreadnought' car No 59 emerged onto the promenade in 1960, it caused quite a stir, since no such car had been seen in Blackpool since the early thirties (More than one Grandad could be heard saying 'Ee, I remember them!). Their unusual double-staircase entrance was designed for rapid loading and unloading. There had been several such cars in Blackpool, but as far as I know, the design was never adopted in any other town. Here the car is well loaded on a sunny day, for use on the Promenade Circular. |
