LENGTH AND BREADTH OF THE UNITED STATES. The extent of the Atlantic coast of the United States, in round numbers, and measuringfrom headland to headland, from Calais, at the head of Passamaquoddy Bay, to Key West, is1630 miles. If the bay coasts and minor sinuosities were included, the distance would be twice asgreat.
