Title
A complete Post Medieval lead alloy two part cloth seal, 1500-1700 AD
Description
English: A complete Post Medieval lead alloy two part cloth seal, 1500-1700 AD. One disc from the two-part cloth seal is missing and the tab which connects the two has been twisted and is now lying flat against the remaining disc. This was probably done in order to snap off the other half of the seal. The centre of the face of the seal has a raised circular platform, which has the moulded lettering “GK” with a pellet in between. Aside from these initials there is no other decoration, and so the seal has very few diagnostic features to assign it a more specific date. There is a small area of concreted gravel beneath the initials on the front surface. Dimensions: thickness: 2.6mm; diameter: 26.4mm; weight: 7.37g.
