Description
English: Metsästetyn hirviantiloopin eli elandin raato Makindussa.


Taiteilija Akseli Gallen-Kallelan perhe eli vuosina 1909-10 Brittiläisessä Itä-Afrikassa, nykyisessä Keniassa. Metsästetyistä eläimistä monen nahat ja sarvet otettiin talteen ja lahjoitettiin myöhemmin Helsingin yliopistolle. Eläinten lihoista osan Gallen-Kallela piti itsellään ja loput hän jätti palvelijoidensa jaettavaksi.
