Italiano: Una delle Gallerie più belle d'Italia e del modo, dedicata all'allora re d'Italia Vittorio Emanuele II.
Il Comune di Milano aveva già deciso in occasione del primo bando di dedicare la galleria al Re e fu proprio il sovrano, il 7 marzo 1865, a posare la prima pietra alla presenza, fra le molte autorità, dell’allora sindaco di Milano Antonio Beretta.Nonostante il fallimento di una delle società appaltatrici e il conseguente rallentamento, la Galleria fu realizzata a tempo di record, in soli tre anni. Da quando è stata restaurata, in occasione di Expo, la Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II ha ritrovato l’originario splendore.
