Description
English:

A wide view of the landscape is characterized by willow thickets, boggy terrain, and clusters of pines.

Big Hole National Battlefield Site. The difficult terrain of the landscape included dense willows, boggy ground, mud, and water. Army soldiers retreated across this toward the siege area, and what might otherwise have been an orderly retreat became chaotic as the soldiers traversed the swampy area. This view is from the horse pasture looking southwest.
