Description
English: Moments before a contact from the enemy, a column of Viking armoured vehicles led by a Ridgback Armoured Fighting Vehicle rolls up to checkpoint Yellow 7 on the Shamalan Canal in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

During Operation Panchai Palang 2 (Panthers Claw), the men of 2 Company 1 Battalion Welsh Guards (2 Coy 1WG), occupied a compound overlooking Checkpoint Yellow 7, a volatile bridge crossing which had been denied to the insurgents by the introduction of obstacles and men.
