Title
A Post Medieval button
Description
English: The object is a button made from cast copper alloy. This type of button dates to the early Post Medieval period. Margeson illustrates a similar button, No. 103, which dates to the mid 16th to 17th century.
The front of the button is domed which tapers slightly before reaching the back. The back is slightly convex, therefore in profile it is a sub semi-circular shape. Protruding from the centre of the back is an integral lug which has been perforated.

The diameter across the head is 11.6mm and the length is 14.8mm. It weighs 5.23g.
