Description
English: A Haitian barber charges a wind-up radio outside a temporary shelter he is using as a barbershop in Pétionville, Haiti, Feb. 22, 2010. The man outfitted his temporary shop with a mirror he managed to salvage from his home and an office chair he is using as a barber chair. The intergovernmental organization International Organization for Migration (IOM) is distributing supplies such as plastic sheeting to Haitians in need of temporary lodgings. The Department of Defense and the U.S. Agency for International Development are in Haiti supporting Operation Unified Response, a multinational, joint-service operation to provide humanitarian assistance to Haitians affected by the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck the region Jan. 12, 2010.
