Summary[edit]

Description
English: another fashion vignette from the Tacoma Times.
  • Text: One of Mary Malin Brown's prettiest gowns is a gray cotton voile, which she made herself. She bought a good pattern and the result is all that could be desired. The dress, she tells me, cost her $5. She made the dress with folds and trimmed it with soft bands of the material, set on in a Roman chain design. On the bodice were inset little medallions of white lace. This lace was some she had on another dress, years ago. She snipped the little designs apart to make them go farther and there was enough trimming to give the whole gown a trimmed appearance. She made two belts, one of black velvet and one of the gray voile.
