Summary[edit]

Description
English: Chennakeshava Temple of the Hoysala Dynasty was built on the banks of the Yagachi River in Belur, by King Vishnuvardhana. Belur, was an early Hoysala capital, is in the Hassan district of Karnataka. Chennakesava is a form of the Hindu god 'Vishnu'. These temples are believed to be constructed to mark the victory of King Vishnuvardhana over Cholas in 1117.
