Description

A U.S. Marine Corps McDonnell Douglas AV-8B-5-MC Harrier II (BuNo 162083) from Marine Attack Squadron VMA-331 Bumblebees. In 1991, the squadron deployed on the USS Nassau (LHA-4) to the Persian Gulf and eventually flew 243 sorties dropping 256 tons of ordinance during the 1991 Gulf War and became the first USMC attack squadron to conduct combat operations from an amphibious assault ship.

The AV-8B 162083 was later converted to an AV-8B+-24-MC and given the new BuNo 165309.
