Object history

Die Symbolik des neuen Gemeindewappens deutet auf Geschichte und wirtschaftliche Situation des aufstrebenden Ortes: Der Dreiberg, Symbol für eine große Anzahl von Hallstattgrabhügeln erinnert daran, dass die Gegend um Schandorf einen der am frühesten besiedelten Plätze des südlichen Burgenlandes darstellt; der Lebensbaum ist Zeichen für das sich immer wieder erneuernde Leben in der Gemeinde.

Die drei goldenen Ähren verweisen auf die Schandorfer Landwirtschaft, verheißen aber auch das lebensnotwendige Brot über Zeiten hinweg und zeugen vom Fleiß der GemeindebürgerInnen; die Farben Rot-Gold wurden zum Zeichen der Verbundenheit mit dem Land Burgenland gewählt.
