English: CONCEIVED IN 1919 AS A MEMORIAL TO ATCHISON COUNTY SOLDIERS WHO SERVED IN WORLD WAR I, THE BUILDING IS A GOOD REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLE OF THE CLASSICISM WHICH PREVAILED IN MISSOURI PUBLIC ARCHITECTURE OF MODEST SIZE BETWEEN THE WORLD WARS.
