Description
English: Archaeological Museum of Ios is located in the Town Hall.

Are there new findings from the area Skarkos and graves near Chora. Obsidian blade fragments of small Cycladic idols and fragments of bowls from the early Bronze Age. Full remained a mortar. Economic aspects starokykladského seat findings show fingerprints sealing stamps, but also goat bones and shells.

From the Late Bronze Age, there are findings of this layer in Skarkos: Fragments of ceramic mugs in Mycenaean style. There are interesting relationships between the different layers of the Bronze Age, between three cultures: Early Cycladic, Minoan and Achaea (Greece).

From the Greek Antiquity is ceramics, ranging from archaic times, and marble sculptures from the Hellenistic and Roman periods.

Homeric tradition on the island of Ios illustrated in Roman times plaque with the inscription, which uses ancient calendar in the local version. Does the "Homer month." They found the foundations of the monastery of Agia Theodoti, off the east coast of the island of Ios.
Čeština: Archeologické muzeum na ostrově Ios sídlí v budově radnice.

Jsou tady nové nálezy z lokality Skarkos a z hrobů v okolí Chory. Obsidiánové čepele, torza menších kykladských idolů a fragmenty misek z rané doby bronzové. Celé zůstaly velké třecí misky. Hospodářskou stránku starokykladského sídla ukazují nálezy otisků pečetních razítek, ale také kozí kosti a mušle.

Z pozdní doby bronzové tu jsou nálezy z této vrstvy ve Skarkos: Fragmenty keramiky, hrníčky v mykénském stylu. Zajímavé jsou vztahy mezi různými vrstvami doby bronzové, tedy mezi třemi kulturami: raně kykladskou, minojskou a achájskou (řeckou).

Z řecké antiky je zde keramika, počínaje archaickou dobou, a mramorové sochy z doby helénistické a římské.

Homérskou tradici na ostrově Ios dokládá v římsko době deska s nápisem, který používá antický kalendář v lokálníé verzi. Má „Homérův měsíc“. Našla se u základů kláštera Agia Theodoti, u východního pobřeží ostrova Ios.
