Dit is een afbeelding uit het boek over de eerste reis naar de Oost onder leiding van Cornelis de Houtman. Deze vloot legde aan in Madagascar.

Ten zuidoosten van de Kaap de Goede Hoop zwemmen vogels en drijft zeewier.

Er is een aanduiding in letters, maar de legenda ontbreekt.

Southeast of the Cape of Good Hope, birds are shown swimming and seaweed drifts in the water.

Letters are indicated, but there is no key.
