English: Automatically regulated, mechanical irrigation system in Cuba: A plastic bottle mounted on a metal frame is filled periodically with water from the tap, depending on the desired intensity of irrigation. The "rocker" with a counterweight tilts forward at a certain point due to the heavy bottle. The water from the bottle runs into an irrigation canal, until the rocker’s counterweight moves in the other direction and the process starts again. This automated system is particularly suitable for plants that require continuous irrigation.
Deutsch: Automatisch reguliertes, mechanisches Bewässerungssystem in Kuba: Eine an einem Metallgestell befestigte Plastikflasche wird, je nach gewünschter Bewässerungsintensität, in periodischen Abständen mit Wasser aus dem Hahn befüllt. Ab einem bestimmten Punkt kippt die „Wippe“, an der ein Gegengewicht befestigt wurde, aufgrund der schwerer gewordenen Flasche vornüber. Hierbei wird eine Art Hebel umgelegt, der den Bewässerungsmechanismus in Gang setzt und gleichzeitig den Zufluss in die Flasche stoppt. Die nun gefüllte Flasche läuft langsam leer, bis das Gegengewicht die Wippe wieder in die andere Richtung zieht. Hiermit wird der Hebel erneut umgelegt – die Bewässerung wird unterbrochen und die Flasche füllt sich wieder mit Wasser. Der Prozess wiederholt sich somit fortlaufend – dieses automatisierte Prinzip eignet sich besonders für Pflanzen, die einer kontinuierlichen Bewässerung bedürfen. |
