Description A U.S. Navy Douglas A-4C Skyhawk (BuNo 148444) from Attack Squadron 195 (VA-195) "Dambusters" landing aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31). VA-195 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 19 (CVW-19) aboard the Bonnie Dick for a deployment to the Western Pacific and Vietnam from 28 January to 21 November 1964.
The A-4C 148444 was later shot down by anti-aircraft fire over the Quang Khe highway ferry, Quang Binh Province, North Vietnam, on 25 March 1966 while in service with VA-76 ("NG-502"). The pilot, Lt(jg) Bradley Edsel Smith, ejected and became a prisoner of war.
