  • Scope and content: Original Caption: GIANT AMERICAN FLYING BOAT THAT CARRIES FIFTY MEN. This immense Curtis Flying Boat was originally built as a submarine chaser. It has a carrying capacity of about six tons, a wing spread of 70 feet contains three motors, and can carry sufficient fuel for a thirteen hour trip. This plane is the largest in the world and recently made a trip and carried 50 passengers. It is the intention of the owners to attempt a flight across the ocean with this machine. It's speed is 80 miles an hour and it can attain a height of 2000 feet in 10 minutes. It's crew consists of five men, two of which are pilots.
