D66 May 14, 1971 Mr. Lamar Gibson Director, Gettysburg Memorial Commission P.O. Drawer 1111 Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70821 Dear Mr. Gibson: We are pleased to furnish additional information as requested in your telephone call on May 11. The platform for the ceremony will be constructed by our crews and set in place a few days prior to the dedication. The cost of material for the 16’ x 16’ platform will be: 20 pcs. 2” x 8” x 16’ $59.78 8 pcs. ½” x 4’ x 8’ plywood $64.00 Total $123.78 Steps at each end as well as nails and incidental hardware will be furnished from materials we presently have on hand. The materials listed will be billed to you be “The Lumber Yard,” 27 North Stratton Street, in Gettysburg. We have been unable to purchase the bunting locally, but believe we can “borrow” a sufficient supply from the National Capital Parks in Washington, D.C.
