Description 80-G-77204: The body of one of four survivors of a German submarine, sunk by a squadron of USS Core (CVE 13) being lowered into the sea from the deck of the aircraft carrier escort. He had died on board ship. Released August 25, 1943. Official U.S. Navy photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives. (2017/01/10).
