Description 80-G-706977: Navy Diving School, Washington, D.C. Harold Weisbrod, Navy diver, sets world record for “Wet Tank” dive at the U.S. Naval Gun Factory, Washington, D.C. Chief Gunner’s Mate Ploof , Master Diver, dismantles the shoulder plate as Weisbrod rushes to a dressing stool, where five other divers quickly remove his suit. Within five minutes, he was again under pressure in the re-compression chamber, released 18 March 1949. U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives. (2016/06/14).
