| Description | 80-CF-8864-7: U.S. Naval Operating Base, Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Forsaking the “bones”, these American sailors signed allotment forms for War Bonds, providing for the regular monthly purchase of bonds from their pay. There were among the 95 percent of all personnel assigned to this huge U.S. Navy base who made out the allotments during a recent campaign. They are, (left to right): STM1C Preston Leslie; STM1C Carlton Newton; STM1C Arthur Mitchell, circa WWII. (7/22/2015). |
