Dieng temples group is a large group of Hindu temples over a 1.6 square kilometers. They are located on Dieng Plateau in Wonosobo, Central Java. This site is about 2000 meters above sea level and among the oldest Hindu complexes in Central Java, Indonesia.

The Dieng group is dedicated to Shiva, likely built in two phases. The first phase extended between 650 and 725 CE, which completed the Arjuna (above), Semar, Srikandi and Gatutkaca temples. The second phase lasted till 780 AD.

Arjuna compound is located in the middle of Dieng group of temples area. It consists of 4 temples. Candi Arjuna with Candi Semar on its west, are the southernmost of the four.

The temple resembles temples in Gedong Songo complexes, and has a 2 meter x 2 meter square plan. The temple’s body stands on a 1 meter high base. Stairs lead to the sanctum. The door has a corbelled roof, and the upper section has a high-relief sculpture of Kalamakara. The temple walls have niches for statues, but these are missing.

This is a JPEG format plan and architectural drawing of a historic Indian temple or monument. The relative scale and relative dimensions in this architectural drawing are close to the actual but neither exact nor complete. The plan illustrates the design and layout, but some intricate details or parts of the temple may not be shown. In cases where exact measurements were not feasible, the drawing uses best approximations and rounds the best measurements feasible.
