Description
English: A simplified representation of the effect of winglets installed on the wing of a Boeing 737 NG.

Note that in practice:

  • A more accurate depiction of lift-induced vorticity
    A more accurate depiction of lift-induced vorticity
  • The lift-induced vortex is not only present at the wingtip;
  • The winglet-equipped wing ought to be flown at a lower angle of attack to generate identical lift.
