Description
English: U.S. Air Force Col. Paul Bell, senior national representative for forces at NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen, Germany, right, listens as Sylvain Colla, a Berismenil, Belgium, native, explains the history of a World War II memorial monument before a memorial ceremony at Berismenil, Belgium, April 29, 2014. Colla and fellow villagers served as first on-the-scene when a U.S. Army Air Forces B-17 aircraft, nicknamed "The Joker," crashed near Berismenil April 13, 1944. U.S. Army Air Forces Staff Sgt. James Young, a gunner, perished in the B-17 crash. The memorial bears his name among Berismenil residents who also died in the war. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Joe W. McFadden/Released)
