Restoration treatment to preserve its bronze metal and restore it as close as possible to its 1929 appearance, and Whereas, the contractor is especially competent to perform such restoration, and Whereas, the contractor has undertaken and satisfactorily completed a number of preservation and restoration monument projects at Gettysburg National Military Park and the Superintendent of Gettysburg National Military Park approves the offer of the Society and others to restore the monument and to retain the services of the contractor to undertake and complete such a project at a cost to the U.S. Government, not to exceed $2,000 and Whereas, North Carolina Monument has a high monetary value in addition to its historic and artistic values, Now therefore, for and in consideration of the mutual premises, covenants, and agreements herein contained, the parties hereto mutually agree as follows: Section 1, Scope of Services The contractor shall, in a satisfactory and proper manner as determined by the Society and approved by the Superintendent of the Gettysburg National Military Park, or his representative, perform the following services on the North Carolina Monument:
