White paper with handwritten black text

Chairman for the United Daughters of the Confederacy also member of Centennial Committee of New York, New York City, U.S. National Centennial Commission, the Round Table of New York has written me that she hoped that General Eisenhower could be empowered to accept the Gettysburg Monument for the Federal Government. Let me know how to get this done. Let me know at once if this can be done. Gov. Vandiver approved the idea. Miss Franklin is a Georgia woman but has live in New York for many years. She also wants me to have the Bishop of Philadelphia (a Southerner) for the invocation. Invitations will be sent shortly + I will appreciation any help or advice you can give me to make this an outstanding affair. Gov. Vandiver set the dates of Sept. 20-21 for the unveilings. We fly to D.C. get a chartered bus get to Antietam for Sept. 20th then to Gettysburg where we spend the night and unveiling at Gettysburg, Thurs. Sept. 21. [sic] Programs will be made up next week so please advise me and help us to make this a great event. We selected the spot marked “Semmes” With kindest regards. Sincerely, Gertrude Kibler I [illegible] like the map book or one like it. We might get a smaller one in the program.
