January 2, 1969 Mr. George F. Emory, Superintendent Gettysburg National Military Park Gettysburg, Pennsylvania 17325 Dear Mr. Emory: I am glad to approve the modification of Design, Modification of text on bronze plaque and to substitute “Soil Cement” in walkway areas, where “Gravel” is now specified in the contract of Mr. Donald Delue, whom the Louisiana Gettysburg Memorial Commission has selected to do the Louisiana monument. I believe these modifications will be an improvement and I am glad to cooperate. I think the Regional Director is to command on the wording of the text on bronze plaque. I wish for you a very Happy and successful– and a very healthful New Year. I am well and happy that we are now really ready for the work and completion of our monument for Lovely Louisiana.
