White paper with typed black text

May 5, 1972 Mr. Donald DeLue 82 Highland Avenue Leonardo, New Jersey 07737 Dear Mr. DeLue: We have been requested by the Mississippi Commission to supply you with information on Confederate Percussion cap boxes. Since we are unable to Xerox pictures of these boxes and cartridge box plates, we have enclosed tracings of both. As you will note, the “CS” has been impressed into the leather of several Percussion cap boxes themselves, as well as having been put on a separate metal plate. You may also want to check the following books from which the tracings were made: Gavin, William G. “Accoutrement Plates” Philadelphia: Riling and Lentz, 1963. Lord, Francis A. “Civil War Collector’s Encyclopedia” Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: The Stackpole Company, 1963. Albaugh, William A., III and Simmons, Edward N. “Confederate Arms” Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: The Stackpole Company, 1957. We hope this will be helpful. Sincerely yours, Thomas J.
