中文（臺灣）：1914年（大正3年）5月30日，正式揭開太魯閣戰役的帷幕，由佐久間總督帶領著近萬人的部隊進攻太魯閣地區，東線的戰事從立霧溪往西切入內太魯閣地區，西線則由第一、第二步兵聯隊自中央山脈往東切，左右夾擊太魯閣族人。圖內的部隊正整齊劃一地向太魯閣的方向前進，隊伍綿延之長，可以看出總督府對這場戰役的態度與重視程度。從照片中可以看出，拍攝者正位於現在花蓮醫院的位置，向當時的筑紫橋與花蓮港分屯大隊的方向拍攝，而背景的小山即是美崙山。此圖為臺灣日日新報寫真班攝影。此影像收錄於《顧我洄瀾：花蓮歷史影像集》一書，為葉柏強先生撰寫、花蓮縣文化局於2016年（民國105年）出版。書中記錄了花蓮近百年的城市樣貌，是一本擁有豐富文史與圖像資料的書籍。 |
