Summary[edit]

Description
English: Pictured is ta bridge officer aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth as she leaves the Northern Ammunition Jetty in Glen Mallen.HMS Queen Elizabeth was in Glen Mallan, Scotland, as part of final preparations before her first operational deployment.Sailing in along the Firth of Clyde, the 65,000-tonne aircraft carrier spent two weeks at sea testing and trialling her latest equipment, before berthing at the new Jetty for a routine onload of operational stores.HMS Queen Elizabeth is the first of the Royal Navy’s fleet to visit the new £64 million facility, built by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO).Operated by Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) through Defence Munitions, the Northern Ammunition Jetty is specifically designed to support the surface fleet, allowing them to continue entering and berthing at Glen Mallan.

The hand held binoculars are Royal Navy issued Zeiss 7×50 B/GA T* Marine Porro prism type binoculars.[1] Mariners also often deem an adequate low light performance of the optical combination important, explaining the many 7×50 hand held marine binoculars offerings featuring a large 7.14 mm exit pupil, which corresponds to the average pupil size of a youthful dark-adapted human eye in circumstances with no extraneous light. The attached braided fancy neck strap follows a tradition in the British navy that many of the crewmen braid their own straps for these binoculars.
