Summary[edit]

Description
English: Phage satellite systems as far as known in October 2023
Top: Known phage satellites display a small head and a helper-like tail. Ccapsid genes are usually helper-encoded, but capsid-forming satellite phages (phagelets) use their own genes for encapsulation.
Bottom: Mulch and Flayer systems have virulent helpers and satellites encoding capsid genes. The satellites exhibit typical morphology when temperate and novel morphology for simultaneous co-infection when virulent.
