Lance Corporal Dallas Tyler, a rifleman with Weapons Company, en:3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, looks through the scope of his en:M16A4 service rifle to scan the surrounding area for enemy activity during a security operation in en:Khowst Province, en:Afghanistan on January 30, 2005. The operation took place in order for the Marines to provide supplies for villages that are short of medical equipment and food, and also to make a en:Mosque assesment and see if they could help restore the important religous buildings that might be deteriorating. 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines is conducting security and stabilization operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
