3; Medieval harness pendant
Description
English: A copper alloy shield shaped harness pendant dating from the Medieval period. It has a chequer board design which still has traces of blue enamel. Small traces of gilding also survive. The blazon may be described as: Chequey Or and Azure. This design has been attributed to the Warrenne family. The pendant has a suspension loop on the top side of the shield. It has a length of 41.41mm, width 25.47mm, thickness 2.08mm, weight 8.20g. For reference see P and E Saunders 1991. Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum Medieval Catalogue part 1 pgs. 24-25.
