Description 330-CFD-DN-SD-06-03681: Hurricane Katrina, 2005. US Navy (USN) MH-60S Knight Hawk helicopters lift off from the flight deck of the USN Whidbey Island Class: Dock Landing Ship, USS TORTUGA (LSD 46), while the ship is ported in New Orleans, Louisiana (LA), assisting with Hurricane Katrina relief operations. The CHIEF of Naval Operations (CNO) and MASTER CHIEF PETTY Officer of the Navy (MCPON) are traveling the gulf coast to get a personal assessment of damages caused by the hurricane. The USN is currently involved in Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations, led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense (DOD), September 10, 2005.
