White paper with typed black text and a handwritten signature

July 8, 1971 Mr. Tom Harrison Park Historian Gettysburg National Military Park Gettysburg, Pennsylvania Dear Mr. Harrison: Thank you so much for your kindness shown to us when we made our trip to Gettysburg two weeks ago. I do not agree with Ney Williams’ thinking that the monument should be moved further toward the corner but, in the event the outhouse can be moved behind the second brick house from the corner, it might be all right. We are looking forward to hearing from you about this before any final determination can be made. If that is no park property and it can be moved before we place our monument, I think it would be all right to place our monument on the park line at this time. I also told you that I would send you an article about an old Negro man here who is doubtless the last person living who fought with the Union Army. I enclose the article and hope you will find it of interest. Thank you once again for your kindness. Gray Evans GE:ph
