Title |
2nd Ave. looking south from Pike St., ca. 1890 |
||||||||||||||||||||
Description |
Transcribed from photograph: "Seattle Streets. Second Ave. Ca. 1890-1895. Looking south from Pike Street. North Seattle cable tracks and a procession of the volunteer fire department in background." Just right of center, that appears to be the spire of Plymouth Congregational Church on Third Avenue, built 1892, so this is probably a little later than the ca. 1890 in Seattle Public Library's title for this. |

Transcribed from photograph: "Seattle Streets. Second Ave. Ca. 1890-1895. Looking south from Pike Street. North Seattle cable tracks and a procession of the volunteer fire department in background." Contrary to the caption provided with the photo, the actual date range is more likely 1892-1895 based on the 1892 construction of Plymouth Congregational Church. The spire of the church can be seen at the center of the photograph. (English)
