Description
English: 29th Infantry Batallion advancing over "No man's Land" through the German barbed wire and heavy fire during the Battle of Vimy Ridge. This is the retouched version of the original photograph (mikan # 3233066), used in the Canadian War Records Office exhibitions of battle photographs, with added shell bursts and dead soldiers in the foreground. The bodies are believed to have originated from official photograph O-1188 (Mikan no. 3233067).
