Description
English: Presumably Dr Ward's photograph from his own back yard is depicting the St Leonards School of Arts.The First School of Arts was built in 1859 (located where the present day courthouse on William St, North Sydney) and was later replaced and rebuilt in 1886, and was designed to 'improve the education of working men'. The building was demolished in 1983. Dr. R. Ward was heavily involved in works with the School of Arts.
